GUNNISON, Colo.—Court records show a man accused of killing his 1-year-old son was charged with child abuse 11 days before the boy’s death.
The court records reported by The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel Wednesday show that Gunnison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call on April 6 that resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Edward Geavanni Cox. Authorities found the body of Cox’s son at his home April 17 and say that Cox is responsible for his death.
The details of the boy’s injuries have not been released.
Cox is being held without bail on investigation of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death. He was arrested this week.
