Colorado Highway 9 in Park County, about 12 miles south of Hartsel, was shut down for about 3 hours today by a truck rollover.
The semi-truck was hauling a dry chemical – Versatrol – that was mixed with drilling mud, said Undersheriff Monte Gore of the Park County Sheriff’s Office.
A hazardous materials team responded to the scene to contain the material, Gore said.
The highway was shut down in both directions.
The truck rolled at about 9 a.m. and no other vehicles were involved. The highway reopened at about 12:25 p.m.
Details on the driver’s injuries, if any, were not available. The cause of the rollover is under investigation.
