launched the West Coast window of its fourth annual EddyFlower Vertical Challenge on Saturday, and registration remains open to charitable river runners willing to trade vertical drops for donations.
Teams and individual kayakers, rafters, canoe paddlers and river boarders have until June 15 to descend as many vertical feet on the water as they are able, collecting sponsored donations along the way for the nonprofit organization First Descents.
The team and individual in each division descending the most vertical feet will be crowned champions, along with those who collect the largest donations. Prizes include trips, kayaks, paddles, outdoor cameras, ski lift tickets and clothing.
