A woman was stabbed in the leg during an altercation with another woman on a downtown Denver light-rail car this afternoon, Denver police said.

She was rushed to the hospital from the RTD Theater District/Convention Center stop at 14th and Stout streets about 2 p.m., police said.

Her injuries were “very superficial, not life-threatening at all,” said police spokesman Sonny Jackson.

The alleged assailant, who ran away, was described as Hispanic, about 20 years old, with dark hair. She was wearing a Dallas Cowboys jacket and had several “love bite” marks on her neck, he said.

The cause of the confrontation is still unclear, but it might have begun or escalated to shoving before the stabbing, Jackson said.
