ASPEN, Colo.—An Aspen Highlands ski patroller has a broken leg after colliding with a coyote on a bike trail.

Fifty-six-year-old Bob Sloezen says he was riding a road bike on the trail Monday when the coyote darted into his path.

The animal dashed off.

Sloezen says he suffered a spiral fracture to the femur of his left leg. He says a titanium rod was inserted into his leg and connected to another rod in his hip.
