Employers can now get the specifics of their employees’ jury service appearance dates through a new online system provide by the Colorado Judicial Department.

The Electronic Jury Service Certificates, available on the Colorado State Judicial Branch web site at , replaces the previous paper forms.

To obtain information about an employee’s jury service, an employer must enter the employee’s juror number, last name, location of the court where the employee appeared, and the date the employee reported to the court.

Colorado Supreme Court Justice Michael Bender said the electronic certificate is designed to provide employers with an easier, quicker way of verifying their employees’ jury service.

“Our hope is that streamlining this process will make jury service a bit easier for both employees and their employers,” said Bender, who heads the Supreme Court’s Jury System Standing Committee.

Jury commissioners still will be able to provide paper jury certificates if necessary.
