For the second game in a row, Rockies center fielder Carlos Gonzalez started the bottom of the first inning by being hit by a pitch.

And for the second game in a row, Gonzalez came around to score the Rockies’ first run. With a single in four trips to the plate, Gonzalez finished the homestand with eight hits in 19 at-bats, a .421 average.

Fixing Fowler.

Manager Jim Tracy said he has a plan to help slumping outfielder Dexter Fowler, who is hitting .216 after a pinch-hitting appearance Sunday. He also was used as a pinch hitter Saturday. Tracy hopes to help Fowler with some adjustments in his swing.

Chacin cooling.

After a fast start, right-hander Jhoulys Chacin lost for the third time in four games. The loss Sunday to the Dodgers evened his record at 3-3. Chacin won 3-2 over the Diamondbacks in his previous start but was tagged with losses by the Cubs and Nationals.
