LARIMER COUNTY — Divers will resume their search this morning for the body of a 25-year-old Indiana man who fell from an inner tube into the Cache La Poudre River in Larimer County on Sunday afternoon.

His identity had not been released more than seven hours after he disappeared into the water near Picnic Rock.

He was not wearing a life preserver, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department.

The man was riding tubes with three friends when he went under just before 2 p.m.

The Poudre River, like most of the state’s waterways, was overflowing with frigid waters from the spring snowmelt.

The river was flowing at 1,960 cubic feet per second, nearly three times its normal pace for the date. The 35-year mean flow for May 30 is 672 cfs, according to the U.S. Geological Survey for Colorado.
