FORT MORGAN, Colo.—Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis says he will eliminate tax increases for agriculture products if he’s elected to help ranchers and ranchers thrive economically.
McInnis says farmers and ranchers are a vital part of the state’s economy and but that tax increases on vaccines and pesticides has increased business. He made the comments Friday in Fort Morgan.
McInnis is facing an August primary challenge from Republican candidate Dan Maes. The winner of the primary will face Denver Democratic Mayor John Hickenlooper in a November election to replace Gov. Bill Ritter.
Ritter announced this year he is not seeking re-election.
