LITTLETON, Colo.—A 7-year-old boy is OK but will remain hospitalized for several days after surviving a rattlesnake attack at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.

The boy, Michael Harris, was bitten Friday while on a visit to the park with his mother, grandmother and two siblings. The boy was walking on a path when a rattlesnake bit his foot.

The snake escaped into the grass. The boy was taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital, where doctors say he will recover, but will have to stay in the hospital for several days.

The garden is 750 acres, with signs warning that there is a possibility of rattlesnakes in the area.
