Two men who were supposed to surrender on charges of accessory to perjury and contempt of court in the Darrent Williams case failed to show up in Denver District Court on Monday as scheduled.
Mario Anderson and Kataina “Markie” Jackson- Keeling were prosecuted after they refused to testify against Willie D. Clark, who was convicted of killing the Denver Broncos cornerback.
Prosecutors say the two also lied to grand jurors who were investigating the Williams murder and denied they were riding in a white Chevrolet Tahoe during the drive-by shooting that killed the NFL player.
Anderson, 23, and Jackson-Keeling, 21, pleaded guilty to the charges last month. The men were scheduled to surrender at 1:30 p.m. and begin serving a year in jail.
Warrants were issued for their arrest.
