Police have received yet another report of a stranger approaching girls in Wheat Ridge and trying to lure them away with the story of a lost puppy.

The latest incident, the fourth to be reported, happened over the weekend in the 4000 block of Reed Street, near Stevens Elementary School, according to a Wheat Ridge Police Department media release.

The man’s description in all four cases is consistent, police said. He is described as a tanned white man about the age of 50, about 5-feet 11-inches tall with a thin build and short or balding hair.

In the most recent incident, the man was driving a shiny black four-door sedan. Previously no vehicle was seen.

All the youngsters approached have been girls between 7 and 10 years old.

Previous locations where children were approached within the last four weeks are:

4300 block of Field Street in Albert E. Anderson park by the restrooms.

11700 block of West 34th Avenue near a vacant lot.

3900 block of Wadsworth Boulevard at a fast food restaurant.

Anyone with information on a possible suspect, or who may have heard of a similar incident, is asked to call police at 303-235-2947.
