The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival is gradually erasing the memory of that other comedy festival formerly occupying the tony mountain town. This weekend’s third annual installment expands to five days and adds big(ger) names from the indie and alternative comedy worlds, including Michael Ian Black, Marc Maron, Hannibal Buress, Moshe Kasher, Natasha Leggero, Alex Koll and more, plus a number of respected Denver comedians with national reputations (Troy Baxley, Ben Roy, Adam Cayton-Holland). Today-Sunday, Wheeler Opera House. $7-$10 for individual shows, . Also worth checking out this weekend: Narrative- minded comedian and radio regular Mike Birbiglia at Comedy Works. $25- $30.
Sleepy Sun is yet another act that summons psychedelic blues via fuzzed-out guitar attacks and cryptic lyrics, though the San Francisco group does it with a dark swagger that makes most of its ilk sound like simpering, contrived cover bands. Expect a rapt crowd when Sleepy Sun invades the Hi-Dive on Sunday, with Lookbook. $10.
