DENVER—A fight over greenhouse gases in the Senate has Colorado’s two Democrats saying they’ll side with government regulators.

Sen. Mark Udall says he’ll speak against the Republican resolution to stop the Environmental Protection Agency from carrying out regulations to control greenhouse gases.

Sen. Michael Bennet also opposes the plan sponsored by Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski. A vote is expected Thursday, though passage is thought unlikely.

The Senate is expected to take up a broader climate-change proposal this summer to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Back in Colorado, Democratic Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff was headed to Golden Thursday to promote his suggestions for promoting renewable energy.
