DENVER—The new postmaster for the Denver Post Office is Mark Talbott.

Talbott is the 34th postmaster in Denver history, dating back to 1859. Other Denver postmasters have included Colorado mining magnate Horace A. W. Tabor and Benjamin Stapleton, who was Denver mayor.

Talbott previously served as postmaster for Wichita, Kan., where he started his career as a letter carrier. He succeeds Alan Catlin, who is now the Western Area Manager in delivery programs support.

The Denver Post Office is the largest in Colorado and in the Colorado/Wyoming U.S. Postal Service District. It has 1,475 employees who deliver an average of 2.1 million pieces of mail per day to about 470,000 Denver-area businesses and homes.
