Hazardous materials crews quickly contained fuel spill this morning after a tanker truck rolled on its side on East 96th Ave. at Interstate 76 in Adams County.

The 2010 International tractor-trailer was westbound on East 96th when it entered a round-a-bout about 6:45 this morning, the Colorado State Patrol said in a news release. The trailer’s left tires went up on the curb and the driver lost control.

The truck, carrying 7600 gallons of fuel, rolled on its side.

The State Patrol and South Adams County Fire quickly cleaned up the 100 gallons that leaked out, the release said.

The 41-year-old driver, a man from Arvada, was not injured.

East 96th Avenue was closed through the morning as the fuel was transferred to another tanker.
