LOS ANGELES — An earthquake rocked Southern California on Monday night, shaking the Los Angeles area and forcing a delay in a San Diego baseball game.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude-5.7 quake was centered 5 miles southeast of Ocotillo near the Mexico border at about 9:30 p.m. PDT.
It was felt as a gentle rolling motion in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Orange County. San Diego’s Petco Park swayed. As the public-address announcer asked people to stay calm, the crowd cheered.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
