The night before Robert Montgomery shot his employers to death, he told his parents in a phone message that he was planning to have a “meeting with his bosses in the morning,” according to a report of the investigation made public Thursday, the Boulder Daily Camera reports.

In journal entries a few days earlier, Montgomery had mentioned Sean and Staci Griffin — the owners of Boulder Stove & Flooring — using capitalization and expletives and accusing them of “cheating us again???,” the Camera said.

Police determined that Montgomery was a “loner” who was dissatisfied with his employers and had confronted them previously.
