The Goshorn fire in southwest Colorado has consumed 185 acres in the Uncompahgre National Forest, authorities said this afternoon.
Montrose Interagency Fire Management Unit predicted the fire would continue burning in the remote area through Friday evening.
About 19 firefighters are managing the blaze inside fire-line boundaries that were determined to benefit ecologically from a burn-off, the agency said.
The fire is burning about nine miles south of the town of Norwood in San Miguel County.
