A Jefferson County District Court judge has sentenced Kenneth Gerald Berry to 20 years in prison for his part in defrauding investors in an investment scam, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced Thursday.
Berry also was ordered to pay more than $116,000 in restitution to his victims.
According to the complaint, Berry sold investors 750 shares of Biotech Information Systems Inc. stock for $10,000. Berry did not disclose to his investors that he used their investment funds for his own personal expenses. He also did not disclose that he had been convicted of several fraud- and theft-related crimes.
