A Colorado State Patrol trooper accused of driving drunk in his patrol car while on duty pleaded not guilty on Thursday.
A trial date for Trooper David Dolan was set for Sept. 28, with a pre-trial conference scheduled for the day before.
Dolan is free on bond, but is not allowed to drink alcohol, per a judge’s order.
Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the 48-year-old trooper after pulling him over at Platte Canyon and C-470 around 7:05 a.m. on March 22, shortly after a deputy spotted his car driving westbound on C-470 at Santa Fe.
Dolan’s arrest record, shows he had a blood alcohol level of .194. That is more than double Colorado’s .08 legal limit.
Dolan faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more and prohibited use of weapons. Dolan was in full uniform at the time of his arrest.
Dolan was placed on unpaid administrative leave.
