COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs animal shelter has run out of room for cats and is offering free felines to dads for Father’s Day.
Officials at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region said they’re over-capacity with 270 cats at the shelter, and another 100 in foster care. President Jan McHugh-Smith said they have turned away additional felines.
In addition to free cats, the shelter is offering two-for-one pricing throughout the weekend.
In Denver, the Denver Dumb Friends League offers cats for half-price, and free adoption for cats over 6 years old.
