The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue may sound like a covers act gathering dust at your local community center, but in fact it’s the trio of Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs touring the country as a potent soft-rock/adult contemporary package. Each has a unique musical identity, with Fagen’s Steely Dan-honed jazz rock, McDon- ald’s blue-eyed soul and Scaggs’ folky soul — and they’ll certainly do songs from their solo catalogs. But their mutual love of R&B also will inform their selection of covers and throwbacks. Tickets for the Sept. 27 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with opener Booker T. Jones, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($46-$76, Ticketmaster)

3OH!3 rarely plays small gigs anymore, but the Boulder electro-pop duo will throw its hometown some love on Tuesday when it celebrates its second album on Photo Finish Records, “Streets of Gold,” with a short performance and laser light show at Boulder’s Fiske Planetarium. Tickets are free at area record stores Albums on the Hill, Twist & Shout, Independent Records and Angelos CDs & More with the purchase of the new album, also out Tuesday. ()
