DENVER—Colorado has no coastline, but six cities are taking part in a nationwide protest Saturday against offshore oil drilling.
The Hands Across the Sand protests are designed to protest lifting a moratorium on offshore drilling. The protest movement started in Florida earlier this year, and in most locations Saturday, protests will be on beaches. Protesters are asked to join hands for 15 minutes to form a human chain along the coasts.
Coloradans are joining the protest near lakes in cities including Golden, Boulder, Estes Park and Durango.
