A 25-year-old North Carolina woman tumbled and injured herself while riding her bike with three other cyclists this morning at the Colorado National Monument, authorities say.

Jessica Cantrell, of Charlotte, N.C., was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following the 10 a.m. accident near the Historic Trails Overlook, said Joan Anzelmo, superintendent of the Colorado National Monument.

Cantrell was descending the west hill when she clipped the rear tire of a cyclist riding in front of her, lost control of her bike and crashed. She was not wearing a helmet.
