A fugitive from Denver was caught over the weekend in Enid, Okla., when he failed to use a turn signal twice and was pulled over by a state trooper.

Rickey David Hunter, 50, offered a fake driver’s license with a picture that did not look like him, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

In his wallet was his expired real license, the patrol said.

Hunter walked away from a minimum-security detention facility last year. The Department of Corrections did not provide the name of the facility.

Hunter pleaded guilty to theft of $1,000 to $20,000 in Denver in 2007. Before his escape, he would have been eligible for parole in December, according to the Department of Corrections.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Hunter was pulled over about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

He failed a field sobriety test, the patrol said, and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

He also will face driving under the influence and other charges in Oklahoma in addition to being extradited to Colorado.
