COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A reputed neo-Nazi recruit has been found guilty of first-degree murder and attempted robbery in the death of a Colorado Springs woman.

A jury returned the verdicts on Thursday against 29-year-old Kandin Eric Wilson. He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

Wilson was convicted in the Sept. 27 fatal shooting of 35-year-old Susana Pelayo-Perez, a restaurant manager who had four children. She was in an SUV outside an apartment complex at the time.

Prosecutors call it a random act of violence.

Wilson says he wasn’t present when the woman was shot.

Trial witnesses described Wilson as a prospect for the American Nazi Party.
