It was a big weekend for celebrity weddings.
First it was LaLa Vasquez and Carmelo Anthony getting hitched in New York.
Then “The Office” star John Krasinski and “The Devil Wears Prada” actress Emily Blunt married Saturday in Italy, according to RadarOnline.
The couple held their ceremony at the famed Villa D’este in Como, Italy.
Krasinski and Blunt spent the past week at George Clooney‘s fabulous Lake Como estate. He and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were among the guests.
On top of that, Martin Lawrence and his longtime girlfriend, Shamicka Gibbs, were married in an intimate wedding Saturday at the actor’s home in Beverly Hills, People reports.
Lawrence, 45, and Gibbs, 35, exchanged vows in the backyard in front of 120 guests, including Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington. Their daughters Lyana, 9, and Ameria, 7, and Lawrence’s daughter Jasmine, 14, from a previous marriage were flower girls.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds joined their guests under a tent for a reception. For the family-style celebration, event designer Diann Valentine arranged for two long tables in the shape of an “X” for all the guests to sit together.
Lawrence was last seen in this year’s comedy “Death at a Funeral.” He recently wrapped “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.”
Meanwhile yesterday, in Atlanta, Grammy-winning country singer Carrie Underwood married NHL player Mike Fisher at a resort in Georgia.
“Yes, Mike and Carrie are married,” Underwood’s publicist Jessie Schmidt said in an e-mail to The Associated Press early yesterday.
The wedding took place Saturday at the Reynolds Plantation resort in Greensboro, Ga.
Underwood, 27, rose to fame after winning the fourth season of “American Idol.” Fisher, 30, is a forward for the Ottawa Senators.
No details on where Underwood and Fisher will spend their honeymoon have been released.
They’re not married — yet, but Angelina Jolie put her feelings for Brad Pitt in ink.
Jolie, 35, flashed a new tattoo on her inner thigh in the August issue of Vanity Fair, a week after premiering some new swirls on her arm at the Mexican premiere of “Salt.”
Jolie’s new ink was exposed when she posed in short shorts for the fashion magazine’s cover spread.
“Um, it’s for Brad,” she told MTV News when asked about the body art.
Though the 35-year-old actress admitted that she thinks it’s important to be “completely honest” in her relationship, she remained mum on any details about her tat.
But according to reports, the tattoo marks her romantic history and her thoughts on love.
Jolie’s new movie, “Salt,” premieres July 23, which will be the first time Pitt will see it.
Jon Gosselin wanted to ink his love for his new girlfriend in a tattoo, also, but it kind of backfired.
He tried to prove his love for new girlfriend Ellen Ross by getting her name tattooed in Korean on his back. The only problem: Her name is spelled wrong, Life & Style reports.
Hyung-eun Min of the Korean Culture Service tells Life & Style John’s spelling of Ellen’s name is actually the Korean spelling of the male name Aaron or Aron.
Luckily for him, Jon’s kids’ names, which he also had inked on his back, are spelled correctly. And while there’s no room to add more children’s names to his tattoo, there’s plenty of space on the scroll below his girlfriend’s name. Looks like “Aaron” might not be the last girlfriend to grace Jon’s back!
