A former University of Texas football standout and two-time Super Bowl winner with the Broncos was taken off his Austin, Texas, sports radio show because he’s running for public office — a move he says was forced by his opponent. Dan Neil co-hosted a morning talk show on ESPN affiliate KTXX until station officials got concerned about his run for a state House seat. Station officials were worried they would need to provide equal time for Democratic incumbent Rep. Donna Howard if Neil, a Republican, continued on-air.
