U.S. airlines’ cost per gallon of jet fuel rose 3 cents between April and May, from $2.29 to $2.32, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported Tuesday.
In April and May 2009, a gallon of jet fuel cost $1.74. The agency noted that airline-fuel costs may be affected by hedging.
