A few slow moving storms may cause brief heavy rainfall through the evening rush hour in metro Denver today.
9NEWS meteorologist Marty Coniglio says after another day in the 90s for Denver and the Front Range, a cold front moving into the area kicked off a few thunderstorms during the middle of the afternoon.
Because the storms are slow-moving, areas of moderate to heavy rainfall are possible in the Denver metro area through the evening rush hour, Coniglio predicts.
The storms are expected to move off to the south and east during the evening.
Coniglio’s forecast is that a shift in the upper-level wind pattern may bring more heavy rainfall later in the week.
