Colorado Highway 145 is closed in both directions between Placerville and Norwood in San Miguel County while crews clean up large rocks and trees that slid onto the road.
Crews should be able to reopen the road in about an hour so long as no other slides occur, said Jennifer Dinsmore, spokeswoman for the San Miguel County Sheriff’s office.
The mud and rock slide created mountain of debris about 4 feet high, Dinsmore said.
No cars were hit and no injuries have been reported.
The National Weather Service reports the area remains under a flash flood warning until 6:30 p.m.
