It must be a misprint. Perhaps an error in tabulation. But, no, apparently it was neither. Sure, when unveiled its 25 most-hated teams of all time this week, there were some real gems — the 1986 Miami Hurricanes (No. 1), the 1988-89 Detroit Pistons (No. 2) and the 1976 Oakland Raiders (No. 8). Even the 2007 Boston Red Sox (rightfully) garnered an honorable mention. Somehow, though, the editors of blindly omitted the team everyone, or at least hockey fans in this neck of the woods, loves to hate — the Detroit Red Wings of 1996-97, 2009-10 . . . and every season in between.
