Tour Victorian Georgetown
Experience the 19th-century architecture, design and decor of a Rocky Mountain mining town today during the “House Tour in Victorian Georgetown” hosted by Historic Georgetown Inc. The event includes a look at seven private residences, four museums, three historic churches and the Georgetown Masonic Temple. This is a chance for history buffs to check out an unusual three-quarter-sawn log-sided home, a restored Italianate, and the ornate scrollwork of a Carpenter Gothic masterpiece. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors over 65, free for children 12 and under. Sculptor and furniture designer Phillip Mann will host “Work Is Freedom,” a presentation that chronicles the lives of three of the modernist movement’s best-known female designers: Eileen Gray (left), Charlotte Perriand and Lilly Reich. The program, sponsored by Women in Design, a 100-member-strong Denver nonprofit, is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Walker Fine Art, 300 W. 11th Ave. Admission is $8. RSVP to RSVP@widdenver.org.
