A suicidal man leveled a weapon at police officers and was shot and killed Sunday afternoon, a Denver police spokeswoman said.
He has not been identified. The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. at an apartment complex at 4950 Morrison Road in southwest Denver.
Four officers were urging the man to put the weapon down and several of them shot, but an autopsy will determine how many times the man was hit, said Detective Leslie Branch-Wise.
The man was taken to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
