The Gamits have a new album on tap with “The Halves and Half Knots,” but the beloved Denver punk trio isn’t waiting around to debut some of its new material. The band will play its first show in five years at the Bluebird Theater today, with openers Only Thunder and Lion Sized. $10-$12. Ticketmaster.

Pretty Lights, the Fort Collins-bred electro act, a.k.a. Derek Vincent Smith, will play its biggest home-state gig yet with a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday, with MiMOSA, Emancipator and Zion-I. The concert is sold out, but enterprising fans would be encouraged to scope out the pre-party in the parking lot. (You didn’t hear it from us.)

Avi Buffalo, a summery, laid-back Long Beach, Calif., outfit currently climbing many music critics’ best-of-2010 lists, will hit the Hi-Dive on Monday with Roger, Roll and Glowing House ($10- $12). The Hi-Dive also welcomes moody, buzzed-about Austin, Texas, act Woven Bones on Tuesday, with similarly acclaimed locals Woodsman and Tennis ($8). Visit for details.
