GEORGETOWN, Colo.—A semitrailer with brake trouble on the steep mountain highway west of the Eisenhower Tunnel rear-ended an SUV, causing both vehicles to roll over but causing no major injuries.
Colorado State Trooper Nate Reid said the accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Interstate 70, about 45 miles west of Denver. Camping supplies, microwaves, and food that the semitrailer was carrying spilled onto the westbound lanes of the highway.
Reid said medical personnel transported the driver of the SUV to a hospital with moderate injuries, while the driver of the semitrailer was transported to a hospital as a precaution. The highway was closed for a while after the accident.
Names were not released. The accident is being investigatedb
