DENVER—A Colorado marine has died while fighting in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense says that 23-year-old Cpl. Max Donahue of Highlands Ranch died Saturday of his wounds from combat three days earlier in Helmand province.
Donahue was assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He was a military policeman and working dog handler who enlisted in the Marine Corps July 17, 2006.
Donahue’s personal service awards include: Navy Unit Commendation , Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Two Iraq Campaign Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Certificate of Commendation.
