A woman who died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning swerved her car to avoid a box, police said.
The woman, identified as 21-year- old Yoana Rodriguez of Aurora, was thrown from her car and died at the scene, said Officer Christian Rasmussen, a Commerce City Police Department spokesman.
The crash happened about 5 a.m. in the 9700 block of Tower Road.
A 2-year-old child in the car, a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was strapped into a car seat and survived the crash. The child was taken to Children’s Hospital. Details on the child’s injuries were not available.
