DENVER—GOP gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes has been spending the weekend choosing a running mate.
Spokesman Nate Strauch says Maes was interviewing four or five candidates, and he will have an announcement early in the week. The deadline for choosing a running mate under state law is Tuesday.
Democratic candidate John Hickenlooper chose Colorado State University-Pueblo President Joe Garcia to be his running mate, and American Constitution Party challenger Tom Tancredo kept Doug Campbell, who was chosen by former candidate Benjamin Goss to be his running mate when Tancredo was chosen to fill the position by a vacancy committee.
