Apartment vacancies fell during the second quarter in all of the state’s metropolitan areas except Grand Junction and Pueblo, according to a report released Thursday.
The largest drop in the vacancy rate was in Colorado Springs, where the rate fell to 5.8 percent during the second quarter, compared with 9.8 percent in the same quarter a year ago, according to the report by the Department of Local Affairs’ Division of Housing.
In Grand Junction, vacancies rose year-over-year from 4.5 percent to 8.9 percent, and in Pueblo, they rose from 8.5 percent to 10.4 percent.
The vacancy rate in Fort Collins/Loveland was 6.8 percent, and in Greeley, 6.3 percent.
Average rents rose in all areas except Greeley, where they fell from $629 to $618. The largest increase was in Fort Collins/Loveland, with an increase in average rent from $825 to $885. The Denver Post
