took the stage to a crowded house of fans at the Bluebird and began their nearly two hour set with “Eatin’Dust,” the title track from their 2004 release “(Godzilla’s) Eatin’ Dust.” The majority of the buzzed, thirty-something crowed sang along, pumped fists and banged heads as the set progressed through a number of old and new tracks.

At one point an audience member appeared to throw an object at bassist Brad Davis. After that, Davis, along with hard-hitting drummer Scott Reeder seemed to punch their way into the crowd with a bit more bite, accompanied by the power chord-infused guitar attack of Bob Balch and frontman Scott Hill. At this point the fist-pumping and head bobbing were replaced by something that can only occur with the following three ingredients: 30 year-old dudes, beer and “Hell On Wheels.”

Coming back full circle from where the set began, a gracious Hill and company returned to the stage for a two-song encore with the other half of the title track, “Godzilla,” with its seemingly endless echos, fuzz and monster-like thumping throughout.
