LARAMIE — Sophomore quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels, a returning starter, completed 11-of-13 passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns during Wyoming’s scrimmage Saturday.

Senior quarterback Dax Crum had 67 yards passing and an interception. True freshman Emory Miller Jr. passed for 25 yards and a touchdown.

True freshman linebacker Oliver Schober returned Crum’s interception 59 yards for a touchdown.

The scrimmage featured one 15-minute, gamelike period and one period of red-zone offensive work.

Wyoming’s No. 1 offense scored on all three of its possessions against the second-team defense, though the first score was a field goal. Wyoming’s No. 1 defense shut out the second-team offense on its four possessions.

Second-year coach Dave Christen-sen said the Cowboys’ offense has to play better in the red zone.
