A Crimestoppers tip helped Longmont Police find and arrest Pedro Garcia-Gonzalez, a fugitive, on Saturday afternoon.

Garcia was wanted for attempted first-degree murder and other charges related to a 2007 domestic violence case and had recently returned to Longmont after hiding in Mexico, according to Longmont Police.

Officers tracked Garcia to 1139 Judson St. and called in the Longmont SWAT team to surround the home at around 3:15 p.m. Garcia, who was hiding in a bedroom, left the home and surrendered without incident at 5:06 p.m.

Garcia was transported the Boulder County Jail and is being held on warrants for failing to register as a sex offender, attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and child abuse.
