FORT CARSON, Colo.—Two soldiers from Fort Carson have died following an attack in Afghanistan.
Defense officials said Thursday that 24-year-old 2nd Lt. Mark A. Noziska of Papillon, Neb., and 34-year-old Staff Sgt. Casey J. Grochowiak (gruh-ho-zee-ack) of Lompoc, Calif., were attacked by an improvised bomb Monday in Malajat.
They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at the base south of Colorado Springs.
Five other soldiers from Fort Carson died in a separate attack Monday in Afghanistan.
