Denver’s Stapleton community has been selected by HGTV to be the site of its fourth HGTV Green Home Giveaway. That means the network will facilitate the construction of a custom-built “green” home that will become an HGTV Green Home grand prize next spring. There are several activities related to the 26th annual “Retro Revival” Historic Homes Tour happening in Fort Collins on Sept. 11. First, an opening party happens Thursday at Ace Gillett’s in the Armstrong Hotel, 259 S. College Ave., Fort Collins. Then, on tour day, six Sheely Addition ranch-style homes and two new bonus houses on Maple Street throw open their doors for this fundraiser benefiting the Poudre Landmarks Foundation Inc. Saturday solution
In an effort to make shopping its designer home showrooms more convenient, the Denver Design District, which has 47 showrooms representing more than 1,900 product lines, will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. These hours begin Sept. 11 and go through Dec. 18. “This enables couples to finalize their purchases when they have time to shop together and provides designers with additional hours to close their sales,” executive director Jo Frank said in a statement about the Saturday opening.
