Palisade wine fest.

The Colorado Mountain Winefest, Sept. 16-19, brings wine lovers to Palisade to sample a growing array of Colorado wines and participate in a variety of events.

Breckenridge Oktoberfest.

Breckenridge’s 16th annual Oktoberfest, Sept. 17-19, includes a weekend of fall foliage, genuine German cuisine, collectable steins and more.

Pueblo chile and frijoles fest.

Pueblo celebrates the harvest of the Mira Sol Chile annually with the Chile and Frijoles Festival, Sept. 24-26. Taste the area’s chiles and pinto beans, and view the works of many talented artisans and craftspeople.

It’s all about elk in Estes Park.

Elk Fest, Oct. 2-3 in Estes Park, gives visitors the chance to learn more about elk, their habitat and how to observe them safely in the wild. Elk Fest features bugling competitions, live music, American Indian storytelling and music, guided elk-viewing tours and more.

Fall Festival.

Anderson Farms’ Fall Festival, Sept. 25-Oct. 31, offers a pumpkin patch, hay rides, petting zoo and corn maze to usher in the fall season. Tickets are $10 for children 4-12 years, $12 for adults. Erie, between Longmont and Fort Collins. or 303-828-5210
