Who’s hot: Junior running back JJ Di Luigi (5-9, 190) had the best game of his BYU career with 69 yards rushing and four catches for 83 yards against Washington. He scored a touchdown on a 48-yard pass from junior quarterback Riley Nelson.
Who’s not: Freshman defensive end Thomas Bryson sat out the Cougars’ opener while suspended for breaking team rules. He could play against the Falcons.
Key stat: Riley Stephenson placed three of his punts inside Washington’s 20-yard line. The sophomore had a long punt of 47 yards.
FYI: Nelson and high-profile freshman Jake Heaps took BYU’s two-QB system to heart. Each had 131 yards passing against Washington.
