As its name suggests and its label denotes, this classic California IPA is “in celebration of the hop.” Huge on the nose with its Tomahawk, Chinook and Anthanum hops, Hopsickle also emits a hint of spice. It’s a slightly hazy, light-amber pour with an off-white head that laces nicely down the glass. The flavor of this hop bomb holds powerful juicy grapefruit, with some green apple and grassy notes, followed by a big bitter bite at the finish. Just-right carbonation gives it an easy drinkability. Alcohol by volume of 9.2 percent, while well-hidden, means the one bomber should be plenty. One of the best double IPAs to be had anywhere.
