A 26- year-old Sheridan woman was sentenced Tuesday morning to five years in federal prison for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Colorado said Jerryca P. Chavez, also known as Jerryca Baros and Misty Hetzel, was ordered to pay $194,000 in restitution to Wal-Mart and 19 other financial institutions, all of which were victims of the wire fraud.
As part of the scheme, Cha vez obtained numerous Wal- Mart shopping cards using fraudulently obtained credit- card information. The crimes occurred between October 2004 and September 2007.
